Integrated Pest Management in Practice

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is an effective and environmentally conscious approach to pest management. We take a holistic approach to pest management making sure we are not only taking care of the pests that you see but the source that you can’t.

IPM program steps typically include:

Identification: To know what the best course of action will be to help mitigate the pest concerns at your home, we need to know what we are treating for. If you know what kind of pest you are seeing in your home, great! If not, our knowledgeable technicians will be able to help with that.

Inspection: Once the pest is identified, the technician will take time to inspect the property to see where the pest activity is, where other areas of activity could be, and if there are any further preventative measures that can be implemented.

Initial Treatment: After identification and inspection, the technican will then treat appropriately to get your pest concerns under control. With some pests it is not abnormal to see an increase in activity for 72 hours, but after that you should see the full impact of the treatment in a week and a half to two weeks.

Monitoring and Maintenance: Once the initial treatment is completed, it is a joint effort between the home or business owner and us as the pest management professionals to continue to monitor and treat appropriately as needed. Some pests may be taken care of in one visit, and some may need additional visits to get things under control. If you continue to see the pest activity, let us know and we will be right back out to your property to treat!

IPM is the approach we take here at JP McHale Pest Management to be as health and environmentally conscious as possible, while effectively treating the pests in your home, both the activity you notice and the source that you don't. We are here for you when you need it!
